System Requirements
ProVision Technical Requirements
Minimum PC Workstation Requirements for ProVision
PCs should be at least Pentium processors running at 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent with 512Mb of RAM. All supported PC Worktations must use a Microsoft supported Windows Operating System. They should have at least 250 Mb of free disk space. They must have network cards. We recommend anti-virus software with a current, automatically renewable subscription. In addition, ProVision is designed to utilize the Microsoft Office or Works© Suite is so these products must be installed on any workstation expecting to use these functions.
Minimum Remote Network Requirements for ProVision and ProView
The Internet is a shared medium and as such, it is subject to slow access, packet loss, and loss of service. We recommend private circuits whenever possible for a guaranteed level of service.
ProVision requires TCP/IP networking for LAN/WAN access. Absolute minimal bandwidth is considered 512kbps host side upstream for a one or two users at remote site. Typically a single home user will employ a standard PC with a cable or DSL line with around 512kbps/1.5Mbps up and down speeds. Some sections of ProVision may return large volumes of data, hence the higher bandwidth and low latency improves performance and of course waiting times. We do require that the WAN connect have a static IP address especially for site to site VPN's.
For multiple user environments, we recommend a point to point T1 (dedicated circuit) or equivalent connection. Citrix or Windows Terminal Server is not required but can be used for improved performance and desktop management of remote sites with a large number of workstations. All our bandwidth requirements are for exclusive use. 384 kbps to 512 kbps (up and down) is required for the first six users and then 64 kbps for each additional user up to 768 kbps (12 users). Over 12 users require approximately 32 kbps up to 1.5 mbps (36 users). No additional bandwidth required for additional users over 36 and under 48-50. Actual volume of scanning and other factors may affect these bandwidth requirements. Overall latency of the connections may also be a significant factor of overall user experience.
